Stowlog offers Users the option to use certain AI-based features within the Platform. By using these Stowlog AI features, Users accept and confirm their agreement with these terms of use. These terms supplement, and do not replace, the Stowlog Customer Terms and Conditions.
Stowlog AI currently offers the following functionalities:
To provide the features described above, Stowlog uses third-party AI technology. The providers currently engaged are the following. Each of them is listed, together with its location and the applicable data transfer mechanism, in our sub-processor list. Users are subject to the terms of service of the relevant provider in addition to these terms.
An AI model is a computational system or algorithm designed to simulate intelligent behaviour by processing data and generating results based on predefined or learned patterns. AI models may include machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision and other artificial intelligence techniques. These models operate on the data entered, but do not inherently learn or adapt from that data unless explicitly programmed to do so.
When using Stowlog AI, Users provide information — regular expressions, risk-related data, documents or images, as applicable — that is used to generate AI results. Users retain all rights, title and interest in any content they share. Given the nature of the underlying technology, results may not be unique and other users may receive similar results. Ownership of the results does not extend to content shared by other users or to third-party content.
Content submitted through the Stowlog AI features, including the queries sent to the underlying providers, is not used to train, modify or improve the AI models. Stowlog configures its AI gateway so that requests are routed only to providers that do not use submitted content for model training. The Stowlog AI features do not retain, learn from or adapt based on content shared by Users.
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Where Stowlog accesses data on behalf of a customer, the applicable Data Processing Agreement governs that processing.
In particular, where a User uploads a document when creating a facility, or a photograph of their card as part of SeaLink verification, that content is processed by the AI solely for the purpose of extracting or verifying the relevant fields, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Data Processing Agreement in place with the relevant customer.
In addition to Stowlog's own platform security measures, the Stowlog AI features rely on the security and compliance frameworks of the providers listed above. As deployer, Stowlog has followed the applicable security compliance framework of each provider in implementing these features.
Stowlog assigns to Users the rights, title and interest in any AI results. Users acknowledge that AI results are generated automatically by machine learning technology and may be similar or identical to AI results provided to other customers.
In addition to the limitations set out in these terms, Users may not, and may not permit others to:
Users acknowledge that numerous limitations apply to results produced by large language models and other AI models, arising from the fact that they are generated automatically. In particular: (a) results may contain errors or misleading information; (b) models operate on predefined rules and algorithms and lack the ability to think creatively, which may produce repetitive or formulaic content; (c) models may fail to grasp the nuances of language, including jargon, idiomatic expressions and cultural references, which may produce results that are out of context; (d) models have no emotions and cannot understand or convey them; (e) models may perpetuate biases present in their training data, which may produce discriminatory or offensive outputs; (f) models may struggle with complex tasks requiring reasoning, judgment and decision-making; (g) the data used to train models may be of poor quality or biased, which affects the accuracy of the results; and (h) results may lack the personal touch of human-created content.
With respect to the document extraction and SeaLink verification features in particular, Users acknowledge that AI reading of documents and images may produce false positives or false negatives, and is not a substitute for manual review where that review is required.
Users accept that they are responsible for assessing and assuming all risks associated with the use of any content, including reliance on the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of the AI results — whether generated regular expressions, risk assessment drafts, extracted document fields, or the outcome of a SeaLink identifier verification.
ALL AI RESULTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
STOWLOG DOES NOT WARRANT OR MAKE ANY REPRESENTATION REGARDING THE USE OR RESULTS OF AI IN TERMS OF CORRECTNESS, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY OR OTHERWISE. THE CUSTOMER MUST EXERCISE ITS BEST JUDGMENT WHEN USING ANY AI RESULT AVAILABLE THROUGH THE STOWLOG PLATFORM.
