The awards that honour the accomplishments of particulars, entities or companies across 19 different categories, were given out this wednesday at the Salón Central of the Real Casino Antiguo de Castelló.
In a special year, marked significantly by the pandemic, this edition of the awards features colectives that have resulted and continue to result essential throughout it such as medical and pharmaceutical schools.
The labour of entities like Cáritas, Cruz Roja or Banco de Alimentos has been recognized as well, the reconversion and new solidary products created by companies like Marie Claire or Amazing UP, initiatives like the virtual exposition "Lo visible", the employers association ASCER was also recognized for leading the revindications of the ceramics sector and adComunica in representation of all media for their role during the sanitary crisis.
Young people with a bright present and even brighter future have been recognized as well, like the chef Carlos Monsonís, actress Carmen Arrufat and the entrepeneurs of Estudio Cactus.
In other areas, Onda was awarded for their unique and accessible touristic resort, l’Alcora for the recovery of their Real Fábrica and the Club Deportivo Castellón for its magnific season, that culminated with a promotion to Second Division A.
In celebrations and traditions, the labour of Andrés Bort who passed away on June, has been commemorated in memoriam, in culture the Asociación Nueva Jerusalén from Borriol was awarded, in education the innovativa contribution of the secondary education teacher Pedro Cifuentes and in environment the different initiatives of the Fundació Caixa Castelló were valued.
The event was held the 29th of July at the Salón Central of the Real Casino Antiguio de Castelló, religiously following all the safety protocols and social distancing measures, in a act limited mostly to the awardees, authorities and sponsors.
Apart from awardees and sponsors, others who attended the event were the bishop of Segorbe-Castellón, Casimiro López Llorente, the mayor, Amparo Marco, the president of the provincial government, the sub delegate of the government, Soledad Ten, the vice rector of the university Jaume I, Carmén Lázaro, the director of the center of Castellón of the university CEU Cardenal Herrera, José María Mira de Orduña and the director of COPE in the province of Castellón, Josep Lázaro.
Winners of the Young Entrepeneurs category
Estudio Cactus, a company directed by three young entrepeneurs, that specializes in tailored software development and 3D space design for different sectors like ceramics, health or real state with clients on France, the United States, the Arab Emirates or India.
